Overcoming Cancer With Nutrition According To Dr. Gerson

Researchers believe that what we eat can help reduce our chances of getting cancer. This means that we can reduce our chances of getting cancer to a third if we embrace healthier eating habits. In fact, even little changes in our diet and quality of food intake can help maintain a healthy body and a healthy weight.

Still, we need to keep in mind that there is not one type of food that we should avoid or should eat in order to prevent cancer. However, it is helpful to consider that your diet can be linked to the onset of different types of cancer like breast, bowel, lung, stomach, prostate, bladder, pancreas, and esophagus.

To start eating healthily, health experts would usually recommend eating at least 5 portions of vegetables and fruits everyday along with lots of fiber. Also, you need to cut down on your sugar, fat, and salt intake. All the vitamins, nutrients, and minerals you can ever need will come from a healthy and balanced diet.

If you are researching for the best cure for cancer, I'm sure that one way or another, you have stumbled upon the name Dr. Max Gerson. Basically, the man developed an alternative type of therapy for curing cancer and other degenerative and chronic diseases. His method of therapy is currently known as the Gerson Therapy.

Dr. Gerson believed that autoimmune diseases along with cancer are commonly caused by malfunctions in the metabolism of our cells. Because of that, he formulated that the disease can be treated by restoring proper cell functions using a diet that is low in sodium and high in potassium. The diet basically consists of fresh fruits and vegetables that require minimal cooking. The diet also disregards dairy products, animal products, sugars, and fats.

Although highly criticized by other professionals for his method of treating cancer, it is still an undeniable fact that our diet can influence the prevention or slowing down the effects of cancer. For instance, nowadays, medical experts and nutritionists are recommending that we start eating healthily with a diet that consists of hefty servings of fruits and vegetables that provide antioxidants for our system.

Back when Dr. Gerson was still a resident physician, he constantly had migraine headaches that gradually intensified until they became very intolerable. Because of that, he began to research the root of his problem. After a while, he determined that his dietary habits and intake had a lot of major impact on why his migraines became more frequent and intense. So Dr. Gerson decided to make changes in his diet by eliminating migraine triggers from it. Since then, he was able to avoid frequent and intense migraine attacks. Among these migraine triggers included creamy fish dishes, spicy sausages, beer, wine, and other forms of alcoholic beverages, fatty meats, and salty foods.

Later on, he prescribed his so-called migraine diet to his patients in Bielefeld, Germany. Apparently, one of his patients also had skin tuberculosis and it also cleared up because of his migraine diet.
